Types of facial masks and their use

There is a variety of facial masks, used on face. Each and every mask serves its purpose, such as cleansing, tightening, moisturizing and nourishing, smoothing and whitening the skin. There are the following types of masks:

Tightening masks

These are recommended for oily and combination face skin. They dry the skin, remove excess fat on it, make it more matte, promote its deep cleansing, whiten, narrow the enlarged facial pores.
Most often, they are based on the egg white, clay, mud. When the mask has been applied to the face, avoid talking or laughing, as too vivid facial mimics may ruin the expected result. It is also important not to overdo the recommended time of application, and once feeling a complete tightening of the skin, do not wait more than 2-3 minutes before washing it off.

Nourishing and moisturizing masks

They are used for normal, dry, combination and wrinkled skin as they help to get rid of the unpleasant feeling of tightness of the skin, soften, saturate with moisture, moisturize and nourish it, help to smooth out wrinkles on the face. Depending on the components used, they can additionally nourish the skin with fatty elements. As a basis of such masks are generally used such products as egg yolk, milk, vegetable oil, honey, various vegetables and fruits.

Whitening masks

They help to lighten a little the face, make less noticeable age spots and freckles, and perhaps even get rid of them. Such masks are recommended to be used in the late afternoon, as it is not advisable to go out into the sunlight after their use. Moreover, if you use them regularly, you need to apply sun-protection cream. Most often, such masks have, amongst other ingredients, fermented milk products, lemon and cucumber juice, parsley, some herbs and berries.

Lifting masks

Lifting masks are designed to tighten mature skin with signs of sagging, increase its elasticity and firmness, as well as to correct the swollen oval of the face.
They are mainly made on the basis of such components as cosmetic paraffin and clay, therapeutic mud, raw egg white, honey, and others.
These masks have a tightening effect, so if your skin is dry, be sure you apply a moisturizing cream before and after washing the mask off.

Toning and refreshing masks

These masks help quickly refreshing and improving the tone of the skin. Agree, there are situations when, looking in the mirror, we see a tired, dull, and seemingly inanimate face. This can be caused by personal lifestyle, such as a clear lack of sleep or overwork, unhealthy diet, smoking or deficiency of water, or external factors, such as pollution or excessive sun exposure.
Home-made masks may be a temporary solution to tackle this issue, but do not ignore a chance to visit to a professional beauty salon for a longer lasting results due to the use of professional cosmetic products.
